Robert Pelletier

Versatile musician, drummer and percussionist touching as much on jazz, world music and original music, Robert has also worked in classical music, notably with the Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean Symphony Orchestra for more than thirty years.

As a pedagogue, he currently teaches jazz vibraphone at the Faculty of Music of l'Université Laval after having led a career in the Music Department of the College d'Alma and at the Conservatoire de musique de Saguenay.

Recipient of an Honorable Mention in college education of the Prix Contribution Artiste/Travailleur culturel 2012 awarded by the Conseil Régional de la Culture, he is also a scholarship holder of the Fonds d’excellence at the Conseil des Arts et Lettres du Québec.

Robert was a member of the group Madame, Brette, Midi.30 and he accompanied many popular artists ranging from Daniel Lavoie to Fred Fortin. He is currently an active member of the Centre d’expérimentation musicale de Saguenay.
