Originally from Sainte-Rose-du-Nord, Ovide Coudé, blind by birth, has been playing the guitar since the age of 10 and touches a range of stringed instruments such as the mandolin, the banjo, the bass and the oud. The young and brilliant guitarist presents his compositions with jazz influences which sometimes recall the cold and atmospheric sounds of European jazz (ECM). The quartet's symmetry and unusual colours give rise to highly imagined pieces. A very personal and introspective work on the part of Ovide Coudé, who launched his first album at the Festival Jazz & Blues de Saguenay in April 2018.
