Alain Larouche, alias Naki, born in 1967 in Chicoutimi, is a composer, inventor, musician multi-instrumentalist and producer. He has also developed serious expertise in sound source amplification and capture systems. Trained in classical double bass and electrical engineering, he began composing at the age of twelve and became professional musician and member of SOCAN at age eighteen. He invented the Stikharpe with the artistic luthier Yvon Robert in 1988, which led him to make several tours in Canada, in Europe and the United States. He notably participated in the Womad Festival in Sardinia in 1996. His catalog includes more than 600 compositions spread over a production of a sixty albums, published under the Discs Narval / Éditions Nakimuzik label. His eclectic repertoire ranges from experimental music to modern orchestral music scale through progressive rock, folk, funk, modern classic, jazz and various world music. He is the inventor of fifteen unique instruments (electronic and electro-acoustic). On numerous occasions, he has collaborated on artistic projects in the fields of theatre, dance, multimedia and film production. He is constantly on the lookout for unusual sounds and projects that grow outside the box. In particular by collaborating with the CEM (Musical Experimentation Center) in Saguenay.
