Marc-Antoine Mackin-Guay is a guitarist from La Baie, in the Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean region. After being introduced to the electric guitar at the beginning of his teens, he breifly touched the classical guitar before becoming interested in jazz, then branched out towards areas of sound expression which try to extract themselves from established traditions in music. Whatever the context, improvisation and the creation of original material remain two key elements of his musical development. Marc-Antoine is active on bass, baritone guitar and microtonal guitar in a variety of projects, often anchored in a rock aesthetic, but never without a strong, absurd and atypical touch.
