Sheenah Ko

Based in Montreal and Maui during the winters, Sheenah Ko was born to parents of Chinese and Irish descent working in the visual arts. She develops a purely artistic approach in her compositions, painting emotions and atmospheres in her music. A member of the famous Polaris Music Prize finalist group "The Besnard Lakes", Sheenah has also been part of - or contributed to - more than twenty other North American groups and projects including: Joseph Edgar, Antoine Corriveau and Bedouin Soundclash.

As a solo artist, Sheenah presents a singular vision of music with a huge and deep sound that plunges the audience into a world where space and time no longer exist. It creates a deeply dreamy atmosphere, which takes the listener to a dimension where analog synthesizers breathe, rhythms entrain and voices are charged with raw emotions. In 2018, she released her EP "FREE", presented in performances at the Montreal International Jazz Festival, Halfway Festival in Poland and Dusklit Festival in New York. Accompanied by contemporary dancer Brittney Canda, they enchant entire venues with their emotionally charged and intensely captivating show. His most recent album "Nowhere In Time" was released in March 2020.
