Centre d'Expérimentation Musicale (Saguenay), in collaboration with Sporobole (Sherbrooke), offered a research-creation residency in acousmatic and mixed music to four composers from Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean, under the mentorship of the two renowned artists Louis Dufort and Sylvain Pohu. The pieces created as part of this project have been designed for immersive listening in a multiphonic installation, that is, a system of at least eight loudspeakers arranged around the listeners. Sara Létourneau, Stéphane Beaulieu, Charles Côté and Sola Nkani each had the opportunity to spend a full week in Sporobole's studio-laboratory to explore compositional avenues beyond music as it is traditionally considered (melody, rhythm, harmony).
