Mélissa Labbé

Percussionist Mélissa Labbé first studied with René Joly, Serge Laflamme and Jean-Luc Bouchard at Laval University, where she also completed a master's degree in performance.

A very versatile musician, Mélissa then completed an advanced training course in symphonic music and obtained a position with the National Academy Orchestra of Canada for 2 consecutive years under the direction of Maestro Boris Brott and her percussion mentor, Jean-Norman Iadeluca. She participates in numerous chamber music concerts throughout Quebec, notably with the Quatuor Nova with which she performs the Sonata for two pianos and percussion by Bela Bartók.

On the pop scene, Mélissa has been performing for ten years in various groups. She is also a supernumerary of the Orchester symphonique de Québec. It is with great pride that she now holds the position of percussion teacher at the Saguenay Music Conservatory.
