Marianne Croft is a cellist from Saguenay. Coming from a family of musicians, she began the cello at the age of 5. In 2006, she obtained a bachelor's degree in performance from the Conservatoire de musique de Saguenay with David Ellis. From 2006 to 2008, she studied in Brian Manker's studio at McGill University where she earned a master's degree in solo performance. In addition to her participation in many symphony orchestras in the province, she has held a regular position with the Saguenay Lac-Saint-Jean Symphony Orchestra since 2009.
Very active on both the classical and popular scenes, for the past 15 years, she has traveled the roads of North America and Europe. She has the pleasure of accompanying artists from all musical styles such as Angèle Dubeau and La Piéta, Roch Voisine, Marc Dupré, Cœur de Pirate, Kygo, Michael Buble and many others. His cello is heard on the radio thanks to his participation in the albums of both classical and popular artists and is seen frequently on several television sets. For the past few years, she has been exploring the little-known world of the electric cello, notably with the composers in residence of the region's Center for Musical Experimentation as well as with several artists from the Quebec rock scene.
